Kareena Kapoor's next item number!

After scorching the screen with 'Yeh mere dil'- DON, Kareena Kapoor is back with another sizzling number. Her camaraderie with good friend Tushaar Kapoor is no secret. The two often hang out together and have common friends, Tushaar recently told us in an interview.
Well the buzz is the lady has agreed to appear in a promotional item song in KYA LOVE STORY HAI. The film stars Tushaar and Ayesha Takia and is directed by debutant Lovely Singh. Apparently Kareena has waived off her fee since Lovely is a good buddy. The song will be shot at an exotic location. Lovely was assisting director Satish Kaushik earlier. The film is produced by N.R Pachisia and the cast and crew is presently shooting in South Africa. Tushaar and Kareena were seen together in MUJHE KUCH KEHNA HAI and JEENA SIRF MERE LIYE earlier.
Kareena looks every bit of the enchantress in 'Yeh mere dil'…So lets hope her next number is even more rocking.

Kareena Kapoor on Don

Bollywood's golden girl Kareena Kapoor will soon been scorching up the silver screen in Farhan Akhtar's remake of Don. The actress, gyrating away to Helen's yesteryears hit 'Yeh Mera Dil Pyaar ka Deewana' has drawn up a bunch of mixed reactions. Comparisons to the legendary Helen are inevitable, but Kareena seems unfazed by the same. “I think it’s unfair to compare me to a legend like Helen aunty, because I am still very new. I think I have done it in my own style, that’s what’s important. I have tried to implicate it in my own style, where people remember that Helen Aunty did the old one and Kareena did the new one. Its a small role but a very pivotal role,” says Kareena. With remakes being the flavour of the season in Bollywood, Kareena looks rather happy to be a part of one. The actress seems to think that if remakes are modernized, they will work for today's audience. “Farhan Akhtar is a very ‘today director’. He has done it before. He made a film like DIl Chahta Hai which was path-breaking and I think Don is going to be another path breaking film for him because he has made it in a very sleek and organized fashion, very ‘today's time’. I think that the audiences really want to see a film that’s really ‘today’. If it’s a remake which is very ‘today’ and I am sure it will work,” says Kareena Will Don click as a remake? And can Kareena pull of a Helen? Well all we need to do is wait for this Diwali, because that’s when the fireworks begin!

Kareena Kapoor will soon been dancing on the tune of Helen's yesteryears hit 'Yeh Mera Dil Pyaar ka Deewana' in Farhan Akhtar's remake of 'Don'. Comparisons to the legendary Helen are inevitable, but Kareena seems unfazed by the same. "I think it's unfair to compare me to a legend like Helen aunty, because I am still very new. I think I have done it in my own style, that's what's important. I have tried to implicate it in my own style, where people remember that Helen Aunty did the old one and Kareena did the new one. Diamond's are Kareena's best friend

Mumbai: It's the festive season and the stars are already competing with jewellery stores to shine in the spotlight.
And actor Kareena Kapoor clearly believes that when it comes to jewellery, less is certainly not more, and more is even better.
When Bollywood's bling girl gets down to shopping, you can bet it's not just mere trinkets she's got her eyes on!
"Trust me, women love wearing diamonds with emeralds these days. It's very in. And it's jewellery season. Maybe I'm dressed like a jewel, too," says Kareena.
But is there a diamond ornament that’s still missing? "A diamond ring but no one's given me that yet!" she exclaims.

Kareena's tears for VIVAH

Kareena Kapoor who saw the screening of Sooraj Barjatya's VIVAH simply loves the film. In fact, a little bird tells us, the film had her in tears. "She was very moved," reveals the little bird. "The 'Mujhe Hakk Hai' song from VIVAH was her favourite." Now, considering that Shreya Goshal has gone on record stating that the song "is my best song till date," Kareena is surely right in her choice.
What say, Shahid?

All eyes on Ajay-Kareena love scene in 'Omkara'

An intimate love scene between Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor in Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Omkara', which releases Friday, is raising a lot of interest.
'There is a three-four minute love scene between Ajay and Kareena. Though it is an erotic scene, it has been shot very aesthetically. The scene is part of a montage for the song 'O sathi re',' said a source who has seen the film.
Those present on the sets said that Bharadwaj, who has reportedly filmed the scene 'superbly', had to reassure a hesitant Kareena that it would be done very tastefully.
'Kareena was not comfortable doing such an intimate scene. But when she saw the monitor after giving the first shot, she agreed to do the entire scene without any hassles,' the source told IANS.
In Shakespeare's 'Othello', on which the film is based, the protagonist suffers from an inferiority complex due to the beauty of his lover. Bharadwaj, therefore, is said to have wanted someone who looked beautiful even without makeup, and found Kareena to fit the bill perfectly.
She plays a Brahmin girl who leaves her family for Ajay, a half-Brahmin and the chieftain of outlaws.
'Kareena had said that Ajay is the heart of the film and her character - Dolly - is the soul of the film. And surely the film belongs to Kareena, Ajay and Saif Ali Khan and it will be tough to decide who will walk away with the credits finally,' added the source.
A special screening was recently organised for the cast and crew of 'Omkara'.

I can never match up to Helen Aunty- Kareena

This is what Kareena Kapoor said on TV yesterday when she was quizzed about her cameo in Farhan Akhtar's DON.
"It's great. I am nervous because I don't think I could ever match up to Helen aunty. What she has done is something else altogether and there is absolutely no comparison," she said. Comparisons to the classic DON are inevitable but that doesn't weigh her down.
The song is out with Kareena trying to seduce Shahrukh in the jazzy golden outfit, looking ravishing as ever. The song is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and choreographed by Farah Khan. The original song was sung by Asha Bhosle and saw the legendary Helen gyrating to the sexy number, seducing don Amitabh Bachchan.
Coming back to Farhan's DON, Shahrukh Khan too looks cool with that retro look donning a smashing new hairdo. The film is very contemporary with modern day gizmos and gadgets, though the essence is pretty much the same.

Kareena Kapoor was the original choice for Umrao Jaan

Yes, it was Kareena Kapoor and not the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai that J.P. Dutta wanted in the female lead role in his magnum opus classic Umrao Jaan .
Reports are that Dutta wanted Kareena to play the lead role in the film opposite Abhishek Bachchan - both of whom he had launched in Refugee .
A report quotes Kareena confirming the story: "If I may say so, I was offered Umrao Jaan, but I think there was some sort of miscommunication between J P uncle and me. I met him at an award function in Amsterdam."
"I was a little tied up due to something, and by the time I could return his call, he got a little irritated with me, and went ahead with someone else. So, it’s okay, it happens," Kareena added.
And you thought Dutta was just cashing in on the ‘pairing’ of Ash and Abhishek when he announced the two in the lead roles in Umrao Jaan.
That’s what sets Dutta apart from other filmmakers.
Umrao Jaan, which is slated to release on October 20 this year, has Ash covering her face behind a veil, traditionally worn by Islamic women.
The film is a romantic tragedy with heavy Islamic tones.

Salman-Kareena mobbed at jewellery show

Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor got mobbed by media persons Friday when they arrived here to inaugurate Mumbai-based designer Purva Kothari's first jewellery exhibition.
Kothari's designs are sold under the brand name Intrea.
Apart from media persons, star-struck guests went berserk when Salman and Kareena entered the Roshanara Hall of Taj Palace. The race among lensmen to capture the actors resulted in shifting the spotlight from Kothari and her designs to the stars.
Praful Patel, the minister for civil aviation, got ignored too. He was seen chatting with a friend in a corner.
Salman, who was at his charming best, refused to talk about his upcoming film "Jaan-e-Mann". "I will not talk about my film. Ask me about fashion, jewellery," he chuckled.
He talked about his style statement. "I always wear an earring and this bracelet," he said pointing towards his bracelet.
Salman also showed his pierced bellybutton. "My sister got it done so I also went ahead."
Kareena, looking gorgeous in jeans and top, whetted the media's appetite. From fashion to films - she answered all their queries.
She said, "I am very fond of jewellery and that's why I am here. I have a couple of friends in Delhi, mainly designers," said Kareena who was wearing one of Kothari's creations.
Asked about "Rang De Basanti" being nominated as India's official entry for Oscars, she said: "I loved 'Rang De Basanti'. It is one of my favourite films. I am very happy that it is going to the Oscars. I will keep my fingers crossed."
With these two stars hogging the limelight, hardly anybody showed interest in the exquisitely designed jewellery on display.
Intrea is a joint venture between Kothari and diamond merchant Ketan Seth.
